As we know about India is country of culture, supporting family culture and joint family culture, respective senior citizen But due to recent western trend these value missing to re-establish the link government should have to come with a new solution

Government Role and responsibility in saving elders

Government of India  and  Income Tax department must have to take initiatives to save the seniors by providing  tax benefit to children includes children and grandchildren, step-children, adoptive children, children-in-law for  paying  monthly minimum 10000/-  to  mother, father, uncle or any senior blood relation of father or any  senior citizen above 60 years + biological, adoptive, and step-parents but parent-in-laws and grandparents.

This will bring lots of family culture and help senior citizen to pay for  their medical ,food related need.  Maximum Tax free amount should be 3 lakhs per years against Pan Number of parents.

The Maintenance & Welfare of Parents & Senior Citizens (Amendment) Bill, 2019 is on the agenda of the Union Government. It is also in the list of bills likely to be taken up during monsoon session 2021 shared by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs. 

Bill will give more power to senior citizens and parents

This Bill for the maintenance of senior citizens and parents was first approved by the Union Cabinet in December 2019 but is yet to be cleared by the Parliament 

1. The definition of maintenance has also been expanded in the amendment bill to include the provision of healthcare, safety, and security for parents to lead a life of dignity. The earlier definition of maintenance under the Act included the provision of food, clothing, residence, medical attendance, and treatment only. One of the most important changes that the amendment bill seeks to introduce is the removal of the cap of Rs 10,000 as maintenance charge. If the bill becomes a law then more than Rs 10,000 can be awarded as a maintenance amount. While announcing such an award, the maintenance tribunals will have to consider the standard of living and earning of the parent or senior citizen as well the earnings of the children before deciding the maintenance amount. 
2. The number of days in which children and relatives must pay the maintenance amount will also be reduced from 30 days to 15 days. 
3. The Maintenance & Welfare of Parents & Senior Citizens (Amendment) Bill, 2019 introduces several changes to The Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. The amendment bill widens the definition of children. Under the Act, the definition of children includes children and grandchildren, excluding minors. However, the Amendment Bill has added step-children, adoptive children, children-in-law, and the legal guardian of minor children to the definition. 
4. The definition of parents in the amendment bill not just includes biological, adoptive, and step-parents but parent-in-laws and grandparents also.

Few Key Observation and opinion

• If government and Income Tax department will start giving tax benefit to pay monthly minimum 3000/- to mother, father, uncle or any senior blood relation of father or any senior citizen above 60 years + this will bring lots of family culture and help senior citizen to pay for their medical ,food related need. Maximum Tax free amount should be 2 lakhs per years
• Special reservation for senior citizen in railway means at least lower birth confirmation if person is senior citizen.
• Surety of reservation if senior citizen travelling in railway.
• Current system in railway ticket reservation is not perfect intelligent. Most of the time if we choose lower birth ticket required ticket was not booked and money goes in fail transaction. Or if we choose none to at least book the ticket it gives middle or upper birth in railways train. So lower seat reservation quota should be introduce by railway government for senior citizen , handicap person, pregnant women, and girls like in our metro train. Proper reservation marking should be defined in our new train system.
• Need of transparency in rail ticket booking system – available seat should be shown by graphically in railway also ( two great example for the same: air line online checking and boarding pass system, and 2nd one as we book any movie ticket by book my show site it shows available seat and allow us to choose the seat available.
• Their should be fix marked lower seats in Railway for senior citizen and pregnant women, Girls with Small child
• Lack of transparency in Railway Booking system

2. Railways makes due provisions for senior citizens, women
computerized Passenger Reservation System (PRS) there is a provision to allot lower berths automatically to senior citizens and to female passengers 45 years and above, even if it is not opted for, subject to availability of' accommodation at the lime of booking.

 Issue : All Senior Citizen got Upper and middle seat in booking – it is drawback or incapability of railway software or  insensitivity of Railway /IRCTC . There should be some penalty clause for railway also

Really bad manipulation by Railway- misguided to general public and Over ruled the PMO  & Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Request - Save the Senior

Dear Customer,
Please note that your reservation request is processed by the centralized Passenger Reservation System (PRS) of Railways and allotment of accommodation is done by the System without any manual intervention. The berths are allotted based on the system logic, depending on availability at that point of time. Further the reservation through the Internet is being done against the general quota and specific accommodation is not earmarked for the purpose of Internet reservations. (really bad manipulation by Railway)

Please note that at the time of journey you can request the fellow-passengers for change of the seats. It is not possible to change the berth after booking.

Kindly note that according to Railway Rules SS Quota will be applied (really bad manipulation by Railway) if there is only one Senior Citizen (of the age 45 and above for females and 60 and above for males) in one transaction and seats will be allotted according to it. SS Quota will not be considered for the transaction in which there are more than one Senior Citizen.
